door lock 05 Grand Prix

Asked by grandprix005 Jul 16, 2018 at 04:11 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Grand Prix. The remotes havent worked for a while but the key always has. Also the power door lock works but sometimes the drivers door doesnt lock fully. Now on occasion if I unlock with the key it appears unlocked but it doesnt open on the first pull. Is it the door lock actuator that is bad?

Probably the actuator just needs a little "help". Give the pull/push shaft portion a little shot of WD40 and cycle it several times. It should work more freely and do what it is supposed to.
