What is causing the freon leak in my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

Asked by Rebecca_F Sep 10, 2014 at 11:08 AM about the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It continues to leak freon. It lasts only 4-5 days. They have replaced the condensor which was leaking and the o-rings. Checked the hoses and can't find the leak. Any ideas?

Yes, that is how they found the condenser was leaking and 1 o-ring leaking, but they replaced all o-rings just to be safe.

That doesn't sound like it's going to be cheap to fix. Luckily the auto shop doesn't charge me each time I take it back, but eventually I know they are going to stop being so nice.

Well hope the 3rd time is a charm, they said it was a bad fitting on the new condenser. I guess I'll find out in 4-5 days if they are right.

That's a good garage, keep them! A/C leaks are a pain to track down, and evacuating and re-filling can be costly. Hope they got it nailed this time!
