Do I have to take my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix gxp to the dealer to replace a loose battery connection?

I am getting all these warnings and
have a loose negative cable.
Service traction control system
Service abs
Service stability system
Service brake system
Service variable steering effort
Traction control off

Not really but if you do not feel comfortable about doing it yourself take it to a good mechanic it does not have to be the dealer.
You can usually do it yourself with the right tools. It does however have to be tight, not just sort-of tight. If you are unable to get it properly tightened for some reason than you will need a technician to do it. Your electrical system will not operate properly if connections are loose. If the problems you describe persist after tightening the connections and driving the car for a few days then I would suspect bad front wheel bearings and/or axle shafts.
All those "warnings": Service traction control system, Service abs, Service stability system, Service brake system, Service variable steering effort, Traction control off point to a bad sensor on a wheel hub assembly or a bad cable connection to the wheel hub. Take to an Auto Parts store like O'Reilys, or Auto Zone and have them check ABS. Had this on MY 2005 GP GT and had a bad hub bearing assembly sensor. Replaced, issue fixed.
