Did u just recently buy car. Like tennis shoes mentioned someone might have added a stop leak in it. I only would like to add...try to figure why they would do that? You may have a problem minor or major waiting to happen. Maybe ask a trusted mechanic/friend to just look at your car to see if they can discern why, as a precaution.

I have silver glitter in my coolent is that from a bad waterpump? Or is that alumaseal??

It's probably an aluminum powder based sealant, as Subaru water pumps very rarely fail. You're probably ok. If you flush system be sure to pressure-clean the rear heater hoses, as they can clog from excess old sealant.

Sorry I'm a bit late to this thread, but I drive an 06 Explorer and had it in the shop several months ago to have it checked out because I was smelling coolant. Sure enough they did a pressure check and found fhat the pressure was dropping slightly. I never saw them do it, but they said that they put sealer in it. I went to fill up my overflow tank today and noticed this at the bottom. Is this the sealer or a much bigger problem?
