Why won't my car start?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have to check oil & water daily, Has been very cold -2 the other am. At 7 am
went out & moved her a few feet, 10am she wouldn't start. Fuel pump is
running. She coughs back at me when I try to start.??? 2001 Subaru Forester
184,444 miles. Please tell me shes not finally gave up.

Perhaps there is a problem with the cold start system or maybe it just needs a tuneup. If you don't have an engine block heater it might be time to get one.

Start with the cheap water temp sensor screwed into the intake manifold rear just under the throttle body. Has one wire and looks a bit like a spark plug. When these go the ECM just doesn't know how to mix air and fuel to start.
