Subaru head gasket issues?

I owned a 2001 Subaru Forester. Just over 200 miles I had to replace the head gasket. At the time an online Subaru owners site mentioned this was normal. Has Subaru fixed this issue?

These Subaru vehicles all have cylinder head gasket related issues: Impreza 1999 to 2011 Forester 1999 to 2010 Legacy 2000 to 2009 Outback 2000 to 2009 Baja 2003 to 2006 Reports of 2014 Forester gasket problems! Most manufactures will correct a problem without waiting 10 years or more.. Buy what you like, buyer beware.

I have not heard that newer Subaru's have head gasket problems, they have other problems that are worse. The Subaru head gasket problem was largely due to their stubborn refusal to improve their engine design.

Our Forester has developed a head gasket issue. I've been driving for 55 years and had never had a head gasket go. Now I find this is endemic in Subarus, and apparently the company hasn't done anything about it. Much as I've enojyed my Forester, I wouldn't buy another one.
