2006 cobalt 2.2 ecotech wont start
My buddies girlfriend has a 2006 cobalt 2.2
ecotech with 90,000 miles on it and taken
in for a fuel line repair and ended up having
the fuel pump replace and it ran for a
couple of days now it turns over,
sometimes tries to start but won’t. The fuel
pump has a healthy hum to it, has a fresh
filter, new plugs, coils, ignition module and
a starter after taking some bad advice and
it still won’t start. We can get it running
with starting fluid but as soon as we stop
feeding it, it dies. I checked the fuel rail
and it as gas and pressure while it’s
cranking but doesn’t seem to be injecting.
My dad thinks it’s a bad crank sensor
which I can agree with, that would tell the
injectors not to pump but my buddy thinks
it the timing chain which I doubt because if
the miles. Any helpful tips or suggestions
would be much appreciated.
