Car is over heating and I'm stuck?

Asked by Lukerichard Apr 08, 2020 at 02:13 PM about the 1999 Subaru Legacy L Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 99 Subaru legacy sedan with 2.5. Question is there
seems to be oil in overflow coolant tank? I do know that the
head gasket have been done in the last 60k. Also the car
runs great and heater works well and out of no where it will
blow cold air and peg the engine temperature.

Bad head gaskets. No other way to get oil in coolant AND overheating at same time.

I think it is time to buy another car. Yours is probably not worth fixing.

All 95-99 DOHC 2.5i ruptured their HGs between the cylinder wall and a coolant passage, resulting in violent percolation. Toss the car. (Disclaimer: I sell 2016-2018 OBs/Legs in Boston)
