So is there a dipstick on the equinox to check tranny fluid or do you have to go buy something to check the fluid level?

My car seemed to going in and out of overdrive a couple of times on the way home tonight. I thought I would check the fluid level before taking it to a shop

There probably is not a dip stick, they have eliminated them and now is a plug. When having problems with the overdrive, it is something electrical, like a solenoid. Best to take it to a transmission shop for proper diagnosis.

There is a dip stick for the transmission. You have to lift your equinox and it's just right of the alternator under a motor mount. There are 3 bolt that hold the motor mount and one that goes through the motor mount. There also is a bolt that holds down the dip stick. You'll have to fill the transmission with a hose and a funnel. Only use Dex5 transmission fluid.. hope this helps
