Rear driveshaft for 2005 Subary Legacy GT 5MT

I have a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT with 5 speed manual transmission and am in need of a
driveshaft, what model's driveshafts will fit my car? will one off of an outback xt fit? its
pretty much the same engine and tranny.Thanks for the help!

Are you talking the drive shaft from the trans to the rear diff or a stub shaft from the diff to the wheel hub?

the shaft running down the center of the car, its a 2 piece shaft with a center joint. looks like the photo attached.

You should be able to use any from the same generation of Subaru as long as the one it's off of has the same trans as yours (if yours is an auto, you need one from a car with an auto trans). One from an Outback or Forester XT should be fine.

i need to find out for sure.... i have one that someone offered my which is off a 5MT outback XT, but i want to be as sure as possible because i cant afford to make more mistakes as far as financials go at this point
