My 2005 Prius key fob has started eating batteries, why?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can't see any stuck buttons, but have had to replace fob batteries twice in the last month and a half.   At first I thought I just got a bad battery, but I purchased another battery from a different source and same thing, 3 weeks later the fob only works in the ignition and I have to use the valet key to get in the car. Has anyone else had this problem?

Same thing with me. Have to buy a new FOB.

I buy such outrageously priced items on EBay.

Thanks all. Put the other battery in from the 2-pak and so far it's lasting. Maybe I've been able to dodge buying a new FOB.
