Question type: General

my son just recently bought a 4runner and there is a button on the dash to the side that has the print worn out mostly, it looks like it says something about the clutch. does anyone know what this is and could let me know and what it does? Thank you

not sure if this will help but you might give this a try, I have one that I just bought and it came with a switch that allows me to start the truck with out having to push in the clutch, so I was thinking that it may be a clutch over ride button for starting .just have him give it a try might be the same thing.

What year is it? Some of the 1998-2002 4wd models came with a locking rear diff. The switch is located between the dimmer switch and the steering column on the lift side of the steering wheel.

probably a clutch by pass switch. instead of depressing the clutch to start, press the switch tnen turn the key to start. make sure it's not in gear.
