I recently replaced the computer in my 2002 Toyota 4-runner. Now my car is again misfiring and my mechanic says one of the cylinders is shot. Is this something they could've found when my spark plugs were also replaced?

In diagnosing the computer problem, my mechanic went over my car
thoroughly before diagnosing the computer malfunction.  Shouldn't he have
noticed a faulty cylinder?

If your computer was malfunctioning then your mechanic may not have been able to detect the misfire. What exactly do you mean by a faulty cylinder?
