95 camry cutting off

Asked by Htimms15 Oct 03, 2017 at 09:23 PM about the 1995 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We bought that 1995 toyota camry with 45,000
miles. It has a new fuel pump, fuel filter, igniter,
spark plus, fluids, ect sensor, distributor, cleaned
out the egr valve, iac valve, and it still cuts off on
us while driving it. Our mechanics and even this
technician at oriely are all saying they really don't
know what it is anymore bc of all the things we
have had replaced. I was wondering if anyone
knew what it could possibly be?

I would try scanning the computer for codes. it isn't hard on a obd1 car. I think on the Toyota, the scan diagnosis port is under the hood. the test will involve using a wire or paper clip to connect 2 terminals in the port. you then turn the key to the on position and count the check engine light flashes. just search "how to scan 95 Toyota computer" and you will get some videos on how to do it. This could give you a lead to your problem.

What engine in this vehicle? When the engine ...cuts out....does that mean the engine stalls. Does the engine start right back up and run correctly?
