Replaced the Abs pump on my camry 1995

Asked by GuruP1FL May 07, 2017 at 10:31 AM about the 1995 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

before replacing Abs, had replaced all calipers, pads, master cyl and bleed all
including bench bleeding the master cyl, still brake pedal is sinking all the way
to the floor, I was told to replace the Abs pump. I order it. Once I replace it is
there any procedures after installation or Abs will self bleed? Thank you

Yes there is and you'll have to take it to a shop to have it bled out. It takes a computer program to work the ABS modules pistons to get the air out of it. You can bleed it all day long and still have no brake pedal.

Suggestion. Make sure the beak pedal has Free Play. Then try a gravity bleed. If that is unsuccesful...try a vacuum bleed. If results are NG...yes...it's off to the repair shop.

P1fl...how did this brake job turn out. Any success with bleeding the brakes?

Depends on what repairs were performed. A little history on this vehicle would help answer the question.
