1997 Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1997 Toyota Camry has been driving well. Today, my
engine check light came on and after driving for like 6
minutes, I stopped to get some food. When I came back,
the car wouldn't start. However, I noticed that there was
smoke in the engine and my heating system wasn't
working anymore. My car became so cold even though
the heater was on. The car won't start anymore. What
could be the problem

You may have blown a hose and lost all of your coolant on the way to the store. Did you notice that the engine was overly hot? Have you opened up the radiator to see if there's any coolant left? Check that first and post back with findings. If a hose did let go, it's probably the bottom hose on the radiator. If it had been an upper hose, there should have been fluid all over the engine and it should have been steaming like crazy.
