why they doors and the battery lights coming on the desh but engine light is off

The car doesn't start after swapping the terminals.
Positive to negative and negative to positive.

what are you saying ? You put the batt. terminals on the wrong posts and tried to start the car ? If thats what you did you're in deep doo doo .

Check the under hood fuse box for a blown ALT fuse. Get back to us with result.

if you started the car after swapping the terminals. check your ignition module and coils. happened to my old van someone decided to connect my battery without me and did it backwards had to replace the module and coils.
