I recently ran through a flooded Road while going home to
pick up my children the car ran fine afterwards drove all the
way home even at high speeds all of a sudden the oil light
came on and then it just died I have checked the oil has
plenty of oil so I figured I would let it sit for a minute well I
did that then I went to crank it and nothing nothing happens
when you turn the key I replaced the battery the starter the
spark plugs and the spark plug wires the car still will not do
nothing when you turn the key all the lights are on on the
dashboard everything else works in the car the motor just
will not turn over it won't even try please help

first of all, when you drive through a flooded road, water is cold and you drive through with a hot car and it creates shock, it will crack your oil pan and could have some affect on your block, that is why MOST people don't drive through flooded roads. It is possible that your air intake is low enough to where it sucked in water to the air intake. NOT GOOD. that is an easy way to destroy ANY car. A Camry is a GREAT car too!! but not when you suffocate the air pipe with dirty water. your system doesn't have the ability to mix air with gas to create combustion over your piston. There was no need to replace the battery, plugs or wires. The starter got wet, sure, but when you crank over and over, then you burn it up. what's in your wallet?? one, find out where your air intake is; secondly, stay away from high water ( my parents actually blew up a diesel sedan in the 80s over high water AND doubting that the air intake pressure would be enough for suction. embarrasing considering they are mechanics!! read my pro

First of all I had no choice the road was blocked every other way second I took the starter and Battery had them tested and they were both bad replace them car will not even try to start won't turn over won't make any noise or nothing

Got it fixed. Water wasnt the problem. A wire in the wire harness had rubbed a tiny spot bare and shorted out the car!
