Question type: Maintenance & Repair

need your help bad,
four years ago I had a Japanese motor installed on my Kentucky made 98 Toyota Camry. car ran great till now. I had a mechanic look at it and he said that however installed it only put 2 bolts in the mount when they should have put four. So when he tried to put more bolts in he noticed that the bolt pattern was different then what was on the Japanese motor. the holes in the mount did not match up with the holes on the motor. So is there a American made motor mount and a Japanese motor mount. If so where would be a good place to start looking for the right motor mount with the right bolt configuration

The difference is probably not in the replacement motor mount but the cast iron bracket. That part may have to come off of a Japanese engine. Also, did you mention 4cyl or 6 cyl? You could check with a salvage yard to see if a bracket from a US market Camry built in Japan is correct. Otherwise you may have to source one from Japan.
