99 Toyota Camry fuse help!

Asked by Erika Aug 21, 2016 at 01:18 AM about the 1999 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A week ago the battery bracket in my car came lose
and swung over, touching the positive post of my
battery. Everything went dead. I've swapped a
couple fuses out to no avail. I can't seem to find in
the  manual saying where a, for lack of a better
word, "surge protector" or battery fuse is located.
Which fuse do I need to swap and where is it
located?

What Engine is in this vehicle? Consider checking to see if there is an EXTRA wire coming off the POSITIVE Battery post. That might be a fusible link that melted. Check under hood fuse box for a 100amp Alt. Fuse. You really should be using a 12v test light or a Digital Volt Ohm meter to check this issue out.

IF you decide to replace any of the HIGH AMP fuses yourself.....don't forget to DISCONNECT the Battery first. Google has a few videos on the subject.
