04 Camry rear speakers-no sound after replacing stereo

i replaced my wife's stereo from the 6 disc changer that is notorious fro
crapping out with a newer one, and after the install the rear speakers won't
work. Did we blow the amp when installing it? Are there fuses to replace? Did I
let the smoke out and now it won't work? Help me fix my wifes car and get out
of the doghouse!
