i have done a lot of work on my 2000 toyota corolla but the check engine lit still comes on when i go about 25 miles

Have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. That should tell you why it comes on.

It wont accelerate right away and when i give it gas it goes a little bit then when i press the pedal to the floor it wont accelerate.

My 2003 Toyota Corolla with 175,000 miles was showing the check engine light. My friend ran a check and the code P0770 came up, which is Shift Solenoid 'E' Malfunction. When I'm on the freeway, I do notice my car is slow on accelerating, but my MPG is fine. How much would it cost to get this fix? Also, would I fail the California SMOG check?
