Why wouldn't the engine be getting fire to plugs in a 1992 Toyota paseo

The engine started up and ran for a few
seconds then it died. Now it'll turn over but
won't start

Distributors have been known to fail ina high mileage paseos. They simply stop running. You basically should have a mechanic test the distributor and if the spark isnt strong enogh, replace it with a new one, or one that has been tested and known to work. While you are at it, go ahead and replace both the spark plugs and the wires. But first, have a mexhanicntest your car's distributor

Mine dodc5he same thing fired up and then went dead. Check and see if you have fire of not then yes maybe distributer. If you have fire then more than likely check for fuel.
