Is it possible to change the oil pan gasket
on a 2005 Chevy equinox 3.4 L engine
without pulling the motor?

I am in the process of doing it now, I do not believe you have to pull the engine but you will need the engine cradle that goes ove the shock towers and to the front frame to hols the engine up. This part is NOT rentable from auto parts stores. I am using an engine hoist to hold the engine up. I makes it a bit difficult to get under the car but doable. I expect the whole process to take about six hours. hope this helps. Lobo002
Having trouble with new oil pan fiting but it looks the exact same on my 3.4 equinox
really i want to know if there is some one can help and before i wast my time but if thats how you roll not for me been taken for a ride before
You will need to support the engine due to having to take support brackets off. You'll have to take the starter off and remove bolts to air compressor so you can have some play room. And about 16 bolts in the oil pan
What supports??? The one by the serpentine belt???
I really want to know how anyone is dropping the oil pan without removing the transfer case.
