Chances are you just did not close the rear hatch all the way. I do that all the time in my Explorer.

I have experienced the same thing as well. I will get 3 short beeps and a little later on, one long beep. It has me flummoxed.

I have a 2012 Toyota RAV4, with 26000 miles on it. Its a 4 wheel drive and V6 vehicle. On Friday I came to my car and remote did not work, I manually had to open the door and engine did not start either. My 2006 Toyota Rav4 keys with FOB were run over. The FOB is broken, but the key still works and I have driven it. When I went to get a copy of the key, the locksmith could not make a copy of the computer chip. He mad a copy of the key that I had and that works also. Should I be concerned that at some point the key won't work or car will stop running with this key? 2 Answers
