Is or was there a software update for 2001 02 and 03 rav 4 indicating bad catalytic converter

No. The early Rav4's, 1994 -2000, the 1st generation were Corolla Crossovers, until completely re-designed in to their own in 1999 for the 2000 model year. But they still shared many similarities. But either way, there was a re-call for the ECU for mid-2000's Corollas. But nothing to do with the cat. And no updates or re-calls for the Rav4
