Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Chevy Impala started after cranking the ignition twice, then it made a funny noise
and within a 100 yards the engine suddenly stopped &the steering jammed. Cranked but
didn't start again. Is this a transmission problem?

If you have power steering, and your engine stops, the power steering pump on the engine is not working. This will make it extremely hard to turn the steering wheel. It has nothing to do with the transmission.
