2004 Chevy express 3500 Box Truck Running light won't Work?

Asked by ThomasG Nov 25, 2013 at 08:43 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Express 3500 Extended RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is there anybody that has a suggestion. I replaced the fuse and I still can't get the lights
on the box to work. It has a 14 foot Box Bed. I just brought it used two weeks ago.

Ck the wiring at the front or rear of the box where it joins the main harness for broke/damaged wire. Also make sure the ground between the box and frame is not broken. The box is normally supported by wooden spacers between the box and frame. Even though it is attached with u-bolts it still needs a ground strap. If all these are good check the harness in the box itself. The harness can be checked with a simple test light by probing the wires. If youfind the wire going to the lights follow it and test it in different places until you find the break in the wire.
