My 2004 Chevy impala SS jus stopped running while I was driving it starts up jus fine I can rev the engine but it won't move it also makes noises when shifted from reverse to drive

have the computer scanned for codes, I think it is possible you have a bad tcc or torque converter control solenoid. it is designed to keep the trans locked up when yu are at highway speeds. when they fail, they don't let go and the engine will die when you put in gear. google the location of the solenoid on your model, unplug the electrical connector and see if the problem "fixes" if it does then its the tcc. also, it is ok to drive the car this way you will just lose some gas mileage.
