Flashing check engine light.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
While driving on the road, I look at the instrument panel and the check engine light is flashing and then the cruise doesn't work. Although it stops flashing, it will happen again. Do you have any suggestions on correcting this problem.

Must read what code is popping up for your CEL when it's flashing. Best to get a cheap OBDII reader and have it hooked up while you're driving to catch the code if it's not saved. When is the last time you changed spark plugs? If you haven't in quite a while, replace with AC Delco 41-103, our I6 engines love these. More than likely you have a coil that is failing or is starting to fail. Having the code reader hooked up will pinpoint what cylinder is misfiring.
I have one with the same issues, yesterday I found that a rodent had chewed most of the wires to ecm in half. I'm not finished replacing all the wires yet, but it runs better with each wire I fix.
one or more of the cylinders isn't firing right and has low out put, i had this happen and id check your plugs and coil packs to see if they aren't fouled out
We changed plugs and coil pack, but still having the same problem..even checked the Cadillac convertor, changed the fuel filter..what could I do now?? Don't understand what else it could be!
You might check fuel injectors, ohming them will tell you if the will work from the harness. Top left pin is positive, then cyl 456 are the next three, bottem row under positive is empty on mine, then 123cyl. 05 TB. Im currently cleaning mine.
