I have a 1996 E320 that the transmission when I am driving it drops a gear down and keeps the engine revved up? Any suggestions on ruff shifting?

The car down shifts when I am going 60mph and it is rough when shifting! Any ideas on
what this could be?

I have the same car...and not sure why your car is doing that....Do you have a manual for that year that you might want to sell me.....Thanks, Bonny
