I was in a front corner driver side collision that totaled the other car and really messed up my 2003 F150 King Ranch 4 door. The Air bags did not deploy and now the auto body place says the truck was rolled at some point and the air bags never replaced after a first deployment!!!??? efore purchasing this truck I had checked reports from 3 car facts places to be sure it had never been wrecked!? How can the airbags be defective and how could some auto body place override the codes and get it out on the street again? Would it have to be a fly by night place in order for that sort of damage to be fixed/concealed? Can I simply add an aftermarket steel bumper/brushguard/winch without using airbags or am I making a bad problem worse?

That sucks but if you don't have airbags changing the bumper won't make any difference. I would be more concerned about replacing the air bags than a new bumper.

I did not want to say that but Comet Guy is right.
