Interior Dome Light/ Bed Light and Door Ajar Indicator remain on

Asked by JoeSBailey Mar 17, 2014 at 03:37 PM about the 2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty XL Crew Cab SB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have sprayed WD40 on the lock assembly, but the interior dome lights and bed light
remain on for exactly 12 minutes. Is there any further steps I need to take before taking
to a shop, this is killing my battery.
In addition the door ajar on the cluster panel is still illuminated. I cannot find a fuse or
circuit breaker that is associated with the dome lights/bed.
Any suggestion

It will require removal of the door panel and at least loosening the latch assembly to access the switch. I wish that there was a permanent fix. If you have them replaced, don't let anyone spray anything in the latch! EVER! The switch is cheap - it's the labor that's expensive (about 1 hour each flat-rate)

How let interior lights come on when opening the doors. Will not come on?
