Would you be able to take a older F-150s wiring harness and plant it into a newer one?

Question type: Car Customization

i have a 92 Flareside and i want to switch it from fuel injected to carburetion. I know i
have to switch the fuel pumps and the intake and stuff to do so but i am worried that if i
use the original harness i might short and blow fuses and i don't want to do that.

Going to a carb is easy. You can use your 92 harness just won't be using the majority of the connectors. Keep things for gauges like temp sensor and oil sending unit but all the map sensor, fuel injectors and such will be eliminated. Tie it up till you get the truck running and driving and cut out what isn't being used. The only issue I can think of is if you have the e40d auto trans you need to put a tps on the carb and may or may not need to keep the map sensor. Going from carb to fuel injection would be 100x harder
