Lights for tripomator and driving position doesn't work

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The light for the mileage, tripomator, and driving position R-N-D doesn't work. It started not coming on for just a few minutes and kept getting longer and longer before it would come on. It hasn't been on for a year now. I don't know how many miles I have on my truck. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

This could be caused by bad bulbs in the instrument cluster, a bad connection with the cluster bulbs, a bad fuse or a faulty instrument cluster.
Your gauge cluster needs to be replaced. It is all one unit and has no replaceable parts in it. You can find remanufactured clusters at a few different places. I replaced mine last year and got one from summit racing.

There are replaceable parts with the clusters. You just have to know what your doing. I replaced 2 lights a couple of years ago in mine. I have an 01 gmc sierra
Yes if you can solder you can replace bulbs but doing the LCD display is a little bit more difficult than just soldering in new bulbs
Not to mention since the LCD display is the problem there could be something else bad on the board preventing it from displaying properly

That's why I said that it could be a faulty instrument cluster.
