F150 dies at intersections

Asked by Roberto Aug 15, 2018 at 12:11 AM about the 1996 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello guys, first time on a forum... I have a question
concerning my 1995 F150 5.0L V8 XLT. I was driving the
truck and I came to an intersection and it died. I turned the
key and it started up immediately. Then I came to another
intersection and I'd died again. I just replaced the oxygen
censor , because I was told that was the issue. I ran the
truck to the grocery store today and it continued to do the
same thing it was doing before the replacement of the
oxygen censor! Any ideas as to what it could be?
Thanks in advanced!!

My money is on the Idle Air Control valve but a dirty Mass Air Flow sensor (clean ONLY with MAF cleaner), an EGR thats sticking partially open or a large vacuum leak could also cause stalling at a stop. I hope this helps

And if that does not do it you may just need a tuneup.

Thank you, I'll give it a shot! the last time I drove it I kept one foot on the gas and one on the brake, that kept it on.
