Error on odometer

Error on the odometer instead of numbers, theft
light stays on solid and does not blink or ever go
out, check engine light is not on and a scanner will
not communicate with vehicle when plugged in. Of
course the car will not start.

I believe you have to disable the security system, check the owners manual.

Could be a bad (BCM) the BCM sends the odometer reading to the dash cluster. Since it says 'error', the dash is not receiving the correct data. The service vehicle light is on because of this problem. You will need to have the BCM scanned for codes.
