I have a 2004 F150 4WD Lariat that has been making a noise similar to if someone was holding a piece of aluminum foil against the drive shaft as it's turning. The noise is intermittent, ceases when I come to a complete stop and doesn't seem to be caused by doing one thing over another such as accelerate uphill. No mechanic has been able to identify the issue as of yet. Any ideas?

Thank you for your comments about my problem with my 1996 for f150, I checked to see if the fan clutch was able to move, it is very secure, there has been a new serpenteen belt put on. So still don't know what is causing the noise, happened one day after it was worked on. 1 Answer

I have a 2000 F150 Extended Cab 4.2L V-6. On the drivers side firewall is a cylinder and out of the bottom are two vacuum lines. One of them comes from the bottom of a black fluid refill reservoir and runs to under the throttle body. It has collapsed and is making the truck run rough. Is that part of the Smog System? It's on the firewall, almost sitting on the top left of the brake booster and in front of the clutch refill reservoir. any ideas what vacuum line that is? Thanks. 2 Answers
