It sounds like your front left wheel speed sensor is probably in need of service or replacement. The sensor is sending a weird or intermittent reading to the computer which then deactivates and antilock braking assistance. Sometimes the sensor can be cleaned off or adjusted but much of the time they are simply replaced.
