f 150 2006 Roush and all I get is it click when I try to start it

Did you put a volt meter on the battery to see if you in fact have 12 volts? Just because the cables look clean, it doesn't mean that the battery has 12 volts. You may have a bad cell or the battery may just be discharging due to age. If all connections and grounds are clean, and you put in a new starter, then the battery must be bad.
battery with the meter reader and got 12.88v.clueless.
Okay, try this. Have a buddy turn the key to the ON position like he is starting the truck. As he holds the key, rap on the starter with a hammer. If the truck suddenly turns over, it's a starter problem. You can also take a screw driver and jump across the terminals and see if it will start. Last night we put starter on..turning key n click. .very sad..we then tested old starter n it works. .very upset..I'm going to go back n retest all..I did get it to start by hitting starter.both starters r good..neutral safety switch I have to look that up..ty
I went through the exact same scenario a while back with my kids VW. I did everything you have done. Changed the starter out, had the battery load tested, all that stuff. The problem? The battery. Put in a new one, and it started every time. If you rapped on the new starter and it fired up, I would say it's a power issue. If it were the neutral safety switch, rapping the starter wouldn't have made a difference. Since it did start by rapping it, I would rule out the neutral switch and the ignition switch. Do the volt meter test where they put it on the ignition wire on the starter. See how many volts you are getting down there.
old starter checked out to be good battery is fully charged and good rap on the starter and it starts I still can't figure it out..but I say to you all ty..a true puzzle
If you live in a state with road salt, you may have corrosion that has crept up underneath the outer coating of the battery cables. It may decrease the voltage just enough to not make the starter work. Try a jump start test, If the car turns over with the extra volts, you know it's a voltage issue.
problem solved I took it to have the starter check ..new ..was good..I went back n clean every cable...put it back together n boom it's states like new..ty for yr help..now to find out why I have a idle problem when I'm at a stop or at a slow moVing speed..I believe it's the plugs..
Could be plugs, IAC, MAF, ECT. But go with the plugs. Cheapest to replace for starters............
