Asked by Jim G Aug 04, 2017 at 10:30 PM about the 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 F250 Super Duty power stroke has started to not want to shift on it's own. The shift indicator started showing N for R, then R became D, Then within a day or so, it stopped shifting on it's own. 1st to 2nd to 3rd. Reverse works fine and it drives fine, you just have to shift manually. This was very sudden one minuet it's fine. the next you have to do the shifting. Any Ideas?
Thanks JGH
