Transmission fluid

Asked by GuruC7YGT Mar 11, 2019 at 10:18 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 02 trailblazer isn't shifting into 2nd and
the RPM's trev up really high unless I
manually put it into 2nd. I'm hoping a
transmission fluid flush would help?... I'm
not a car girl and just bought it off someone
who didn't tell me it did this. Bad buy but oh
well. What is the best transmission fluid I
can buy? Should I get the filter changed as
well? I don't have money to pour into it to get
the transmission looked at right now

Do not do a transmission flush!!! That's a guarantee your tranny will fail quicker. Only replace the filter, and replace what fluid is lost with Dexron 6 only. When driving, if you let off the gas, will it change gears instead of doing it manually? If so, it's probably throttle position sensor, it's part of the throttle body.
