Could this problem be the ECM?

Asked by Dawn Apr 16, 2016 at 10:16 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet S-10 LS LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had the ignition coil wire replaced as
well as a complete tune up done on my
vehicle. While the check engine light has
not been on since this has been
completed, I am noticing that it acts like it
wants to stall when I'm at a light, for
example, but then once I press the gas
pedal it hesitates for a second and then
takes off. I also noticed when I come to a
stop it will sometimes act like it is going to
stall but then seems to correct itself. Mind
you, no check engine light comes on.

Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down. How many miles on it?

Who did the recent work? they are the ones you should ask- was it running ok before the "tune up"? it sounds like it got a "tune down"

The check engine light finally came on when I was on my way to work. It has 193k miles on it. I'll have the local auto parts store run a check on it.
