Just had fuel pump replaced on my 98 S-10, 2.2L. Drove for 2hours at highway speed, then service engine soon light came on. Car ran fine for 40 miles. Is this a fuel issue?

could be, new pressure may be changing fuel mix, picked up by o2 sensors, scan codes for 02 sensor or whatever.
Don't worry about it ! You might have air mixed in with the gas. Be sure to close the gas cap tight. Drive the truck normally and by the 2nd or 3rd full gas tank, it should clear. Let us know, OK?
make sure fuel filler pipe and hoses and clamps are secure and tight no leaks or crack and make sure filler cap is closed tight. The fuel system on your truck is pressurized and if it isn't holding the pressure it will turn the "check engine" light on
Thanks for the responses. The light went out on its own while driving today. Light was on for 2 days. Made probably 6 or 7 starts and stops over the 2 days. Car continues to run fine. I did stop for gas about 15 minutes before the light first illuminated. Maybe fuel cap was not tight enough initially!
Just had a fuel pump relay put in my 2013 ford Taurus, now engine light comes on
