2000 s10 not starting

Asked by Songofseng Jan 07, 2017 at 06:52 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet S-10 LS Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, my 2000 s10 with the 4.3 vortex
won't start. All the sudden a month ago
it started taking 10 or so cranks before
it would start at the morning....
Sometimes killing the battery. As long
as I had been running it , it would start
right up. Then I started hitting it with
some ether and it would fire up easier.
Well, yesterday I tried everything and it
won't start. Got a coil and tried with no
luck. Does anyone have an idea?

Sounds like you have a fuel issue with the fuel delivery system. You should check the fuel pressure and do a fuel bleed down test. If the fuel pressure is under 56 lbs, it may be the fuel pump or the regulator.. If the fuel pressure drops 5 lbs. within 3 min. then there are leaky fuel injectors.
