kept cranking it till the battery died
well i got a real bad spell an some
back fire from it before the battery
died... well i got it towed back to my
house and it been 2 weeks and so
far iv put these parts on it
Distributer cap an rotor
Spark plugs & wires
Starter
Battery
Air filter
Crankshaft position sensor
Fuel filter
Ignition coil
Timing chain
Oil chang and filter
Fresh batch of coolant
And still nothing i cant get it to start
at all it wont even backfire no more.
It just cranks and when it dose i
hear a compression sound. Its been

Holy cow! Before you go any further .... Do you have a spark when cranking? Do you hear your fuel pump come on and run for about 5 sec when you turn the Key? I'm curious why you went with the "shotgun" approach instead of having it towed to a garage?
Check for spark and fuel pressure. If you do not have spark, check the wiring harness on the coil. This harness tends to get worn out and either the wires breaks or shorts across. Good places to start. If a fuel Pressure issue, change filter and test pump. Replace as necessary, and hopefully you will find the problem in those area. Everything else becomes an expensive fix.
Fuel issues are way more common. Check fuel pressure and leakdown
Im getting fuel i can smell it when trying to start plus if i pull out my spak plugs they smell of fuel an i just put a new distributer in yester day still havnt checked for spark gotta wait to get a exstra hand
Me doing it myself will cost less.. no labor you can say.. ya im not a pro mechanic but i can do it right. Im just stumped and list.. just hoping someone can help me out here I
Put the plug wire on the spark plug you removed .... make sure the spark plug is grounded and it may be easier to see the spark Good Luck
I tested the voltage on the wires heading to both the icm and coil they both have ruffly 12v but no spark from coil.. ICM?
Replace the pick up in the distributer. Chances are you are getting voltage in, but nothing in reference out. Pain in the butt to do, not too expensive, and there is no concurrent testing to verify it is bad, but id you have power in, rotation in distributer, then your pick up is not telling the PCM that it is turning. Give that a shot!
If you are sure that you have no spark, and you are not familiar with what you are doing ... let it be and find someone who knows what they are doing ,,, otherwise you could turn a simple repair in to a very expensive one .... Once you begin changing components you could easily create other problems if you are not familiar with the procedure.
Put a new distributer in an timing chain i believe i fucked up the timing but does the coil feed the distributer spark of dose the distributer feed the coil spark
The distributor sends a pulse to the coil ( the coil needs to have the 12volts removed then re-applied very fast and you will see a spark at the end of the wire) Thats what the distributor does when the engine is turning. Everytime the pickup (generates the pulse) is induced because the distrib. has a part that rotates inside of it while cranking .. that pulse then goes to the coil ...and the spark is then sent to the proper spark plug.. This is just a basic idea .... you will no doubt get other opinions on this but in reality this is all that's required to figure out how it works
Ok well based off that i be looking at all the ignition components the wrong way
