Flashing Service engine light

OK my light is on from what the scanner at auto zone says its evap problem(purging during non a non purge or faulty vent silinoid) but that's not why I'm here. When i take off from a dead stop the truck  jitters i guess you could say and my light flashes only (but doesn't flash when i'm stopped or when i'm going down hill what does it mean and it idles ruff. That and also there is a awful odor coming from exhast.

Odor from exhaust tells me to check the catalytic convertor

if it smells like sulpher or gas that would come out of uncle harry after eating 14 boiled eggs and 5 buritos it (the cat) is getting raw fuel dumped in to it so go from there usully u c signs of a bat cat it just dont go bad over night all of a suddden new problem so some thing to consider
