My truck is running really rough after changing transmissions.

I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 3.2
liter. I changed the transmission to a
5.2. Since then it's running really
rough. Its bucking, backfiring, and
running really bad. I've chEcked the
distributor cap, router button button,
and wire.

have you had it plugged in and checked? even with no "engine light" on, you may still have a detectable problem. I had a similar issue. ended up being the cam sensor

could also be your crank sensor since that will be moved around during the trans swap. Did someone tell you the trans swap was compatible?

I would really consider the cam positioning sensor mine was running that way and thats what it was
