Vacuum hose from intake(?) to valve
cover...what is it? Experiencing hp issues
and misfire after lots of repairs.

That is the PCV valve hose that vents the engine crankcase. Make sure there is no vacuum leak in the hose and that they PCV rattles if you pull it out and shake it.
