First thing is to check the transmission fluid level and the condition of the fluid. The fluid should be pink and not brown or black.

Trying to determine if my 2004 Ram 1500 Qd cab 4wd 4.7 Liter automatic transmission is 46RE, 47RE, or 48RE so I can determine the band adjustment?
